Hello there ….

Two weeks ago, I went for an assessment day with one of the UK´s largest airlines. We first had to pass an English and math test, which were fairly easy. A typical math question was : “Our Boeing 747 has 350 seats, we have 237 passengers on-board, so how many open seats to we have?”. Easy, really…..

The English test was simple too…. we had 3 minutes to read a short story, and then we were handed out a questionnaire about it.

Then we had to stand up in front of the other candidates, and had to read a short text. I think they wanted to know how you would sound on the PA system. Make sure you read slowly, loud enough to be heard well by all, but no shouting!

Then we had the 2-1 interview. They asked the typical questions, like :

– Can you give me an example of when you gave excellent customer service?

– an example when you didn´t give good service, and how you could correct it?

– why do you want to work for xxxxx airlines?

– what do you know about xxxxx airlines?

– why do you think we should chose you?

Before you go to the interview, I think it would be nice to be prepared with a few customer service examples. It doesn´t need to be anything spectacular or unbelievable! Just be honest, calm, and show genuine friendliness. Also, find out about the history and services offered by the airline, as they might ask you about it.

The interviewers likely see hundreds of candidates every year and they won´t bite!

There are also some helpful glight attendants forums where you can find information : www.pprune.org and www.airlinecrew.net .

Good luck with your interview
