Exercises on Inequalities in Two Variables..pls help me..?

A. If the domain for both x and y is (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7). Find the solution set of:

1) x+y > 8

2) x-y is greater than or equal to 3

3) 3x-2y < 7 Tnx for your help..

the domain is the possible values x and y can have.

i will do #1

x + y > 8

2 2 = 4 no

2 3 = 5 no

2 6 = 8 no (not >y

2 7 = 9 OK

if x = 2, y =9 is only solution… (2,9) is in the set.

repeat for other values of x….

however, it is probably easier to solve for one variable to see what you need, i.e.,:

y > 8 – x

x = 2, y > 6… y = 7 only………. (2,7)

x = 3, y > 5, y = 6, 7……………(3,6), (3,7)

x = 4, y > 4…. ……………………..(4,5), (4,6), (4,7)

x = 5, y > 3 ………………………(5,4) (5,5), (5,6), (5,7)

x = 6, y >2 (6,3), (6,4)..to (6,7)

x = 7, y >1 (7,2), (7,3)…. to (7,7)

repeat same concept for #2 and #3
