well basically thats a bit of a moral question. depends-most of the athletes r not the smartest ppl ever and money and fame do change ppl a lot. some of them usually get confused and start thinking that they r untouchable and become *******. actually thats quite common. i cant think of any professional athletes in football or basketball or anything cause im not interested. i can give u an example from skateboarding-as much as i hate that kid ill tell u the story-the name is ryan sheckler-17 years old, became pro when he was 12 or 13. he won a few random contests and now he acts like hes done so much and hes so good that no one can reach him while hes not good at all-basically a sell out. i mean who makes a huge tattoo on his back that says his own name…. its not all about how good u r. its all about the competition and u should always respect ur opponent no matter how much u hate him/her/them.

Tiger Woods seemed to do splendidly, as did many Olympic medalists who were still in their teens. Then again, think of the high school kids who threw away their educations and futures to become a “flash in the pan” for some pro sport or other. As others have said, you have to decide what your opinion IS before you can support it in an essay.

Wasn’t there one who died five or so years ago from a cocaine overdose? yeah, that’s not much help, but I don’t really follow sports at all.

I don’t proverbs will help you at all with this.

If you can get some sports players that went straight from HS into the pros, even the minor leagues, never to be heard from again….

hrm. wait… maybe that’s where you can get some names from? research draft picks from past years?

back to original point. You need to have your opinion on the subject first and have research to back it up. Maybe interview the coach of your school or local college. or look up editorials in newspapers or sports stories and sports magazines.

nah, forget the point i was going to make, i was going to suggest a comparison paper. but then I adored doing making my English papers more difficult than they needed to be.

You should focus on different athletes and that have lived through this and faltered… As of now I can only think of one who has: Kobe Bryant. He went into the NBA right after HS… and he is probably the best player in the league, but he is not a team player and his personal life has seriously suffered… But LeBron has succeed in all forms. So I’m not sure your topic could be proven… I think in general it depends on the person…
