Electron Configuration Shorthand?
Hydrogen H )1e-
Lithium Li )2e- )1e-
Fluorine F )2e- )7e-
Sodium Na )2e- )8e- )1e-
i don’t really get this, how can you know what’s next? i can’t flung in chemistry!

each shell (somwthing in which the electorns revolve) can hold up to a certain number of electrons in an atom.
the name of the shells given is K,L,M,N
K hold up to 2 electorns
L holds upto 8 electorns
M holds up to 18 electrons
N holds upto 32 electrons
now once u know the the no. of electrons for e.g. for fluorine the atomic no. is 9
so usin the above info u;ll write 2,7
n mmm thats how i learnt at school (2,7) but uve been taught in a different way….wteva it is as u can see the numbers are correct.u can use ur own format.
same for sodium 11 is the proton number soooooooo
K holds 2
L holds 8
M would have to hold up the last one
addin em up gives u 11.
always remmeber how much each shell can hold upto and then u can write the ectronic configuration for any element,,,unless its not somethin too big,bt dont worry they wont ask u that at this leve;l 😛
best of luck wth chemistry,u just have to understand the concept (k,l,m,n thingy) DO NOT MEMORIZE or else chemistry will give u a hard time.chemistry is an awesome subject trust me ,u’ll start liking it once u start understanding it 🙂
