Look into Thomas Edison’s battle with others over whether the standard would be AC or DC electricity! Some great stuff there including the electrocution of an elephant! No kidding!
Electricty moved everything into high gear. It ended some repetitous hand work and thus created unemployment, but as factories expanded, the labor need did as well. Once the electric motor was invented, it was adapted everywhere because it was so much faster and cheaper. Run bottles through a bottle wash…have a machine clean them out. Have one person check them, rather than hiring rows of women to scrub the bottles by hand.
