Early systems of democratic government origninated in ________? 10 pts to who helps!?

Athens, Greece is typically considered to be the birthplace of the democratic system of government sometime in the 6th to 5th centuries BC. During the same period there were other civilizations with democratic forms of governements in certain regions, such as in the countries now known as India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, but there is much more information available about Athenian democracy.

It originated in Europe during the industrial revolution in the 18th century. France has the French revolution by people against the king. England is the first country in Europe to successfully have limited democracy, after the king let go some of the powers and modify the constitution. The Russian monarchy refused and ended up losing to the communists in 1917, Democracy of course was exported to US as early as 1776 during the American revolution against British colonial rule. So I would say the first country that tried it is USA!!!!
