Does it matter if you live in one region and your 4-year degree is accredited through a different “region..?

Quick Background: I’m trying to enroll in a regionally accredited school and strictly take online courses for the rest of my 4-year degree.

Question: Are all regionally accredited institutions BASICALLY the same? By that I mean if I take courses online at Kaplan University (which is regionally accredited through *North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission*) and I live in Kentucky where regionally accredited schools are accredited through *Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges* – – will employers still accept my 4-year degree as valid in Kentucky?

Your degree is valid everywhere.

An employer may recognize one or the other as better, but it will still be valid.

When you are switching schools you may run into some problems. All schools have standards for transfer credits. Even if the school does accept your earned credits from your previous school, they may just transfer as electives, and not count for anything but credits. For information on this, you will have to speak with the registrars office at the school you would like to transfer too, to make sure credits will transfer the way you want them to. (Fill GER etc.)
