Economics is the study of how people meet their needs with limited resources. Accounting records the transfer of funds to or from people and or businesses. The only connection I see between Economics and Accounting is via Finance. Finance is the study of the management of funds and thus involves both Accounting and Microeconomics.

Absolutely. Any business course would be beneficial for someone studying accounting. Most universities will require some economics coursework as part of an accounting or finance major.
