I fall in the 122-130 range and I have to tell you that I rarely studied in school or crash studied for things the night before. I am a lawyer now and while in law school I worked forty hours a week while attending a full course load. So, I never had time to study and still maintained a B average. I had several friends at school who studied in the library almost as much as I worked and couldn’t get above a C in any class.

I don’t think just studying can make you smart or get your goals accomplished. Sometimes it takes more than that and sometimes studying the book won’t help you get the right answer on the test.

Stanovich maintains that while developing a universal “rationality-quotient (RQ) test” would require a multimillion-dollar research programme, there is no technical or conceptual reason why it could not be done. An RQ test could measure the extent to which people are inclined to use what capacity they have.

Yes, that’s how you get smart, is studying. I believe average IQ is around 120. But, some people who are ‘book smart’ are downright dense when it comes to every day decisions. Like what top goes with what bottom (in clothes.) Or leaving the stove on & going to sleep. Or locking their keys in the car. I heard that there’s a book out there to teach intelligent people about ‘street smarts.’

My brother is a genius with the common sense of a rock. IQ has little to do with smarts, it’s just a gauge of your ability or potential to acquire knowledge. Some people are born with the ability to see complex relationships easily (mathematics, physics, chemistry, language, music), and that cannot be learned – but there’s nothing on earth to keep you from maxing out your potential through self-study. High IQ is over 140.

ur iq has nothing to do with being smart

u can have an iq of 200 which would be super high and still understand anything about quantum physics and u might not even know the rules of baseball.

iq is simply somethin u have since ur like 7 years old and it never changes not sure what its good for mines 131.

whoever told u being smart depends on your iq only is insane! you have the same iq from the age of 7 maybe even younger if u learn math early, and it stays exactly the same till u die.

a 7 year old with an iq of 500 isnt smarter than me. and there is people right now with higher iqs and i am still, more wise.

being smart requires a good mood really thats why they tell you before big tests get a good nights sleep and eat a good breakfast cause being in a good mood is what will make u do better, i always finished every test first and usually had the best grades sometimes i would get 1 or 2 things wrong cause i rush through.

yes and i took standardized tests and came up 98% tile

which means i got the highest score of anyone in the country that took the test that time anyone who got less answers right would be in 97%tile and down

and im sure people with higher iqs made less %tiles cause it takes actual reading comprehension to pass standardized tests while iq tests are really easy.

also people say there are 2 types of knowledge book smart and street smart(common sense) i beg to differ there is only one kind of smart and those people who tell u they are booksmart and u believe them are not to bright.

im very super book smart and street smart and i rather havea street smart friend anytime cuz book smart people are bigger liars cuz who is to say they are right?? there is much debate on what books say yet anyone who can read one book and learn that one aspect is supposed to be smart? makes no sense how can u be smart if you read 1000 books that are all debated? lets say one guy says we evolved from monkeys and another says God created us they can send to eachother tons of studies and science documents and both think they are the smarter one, and im sure all their friends think they are smart cause they can spit off some remarks read from the writing of another persons mind.

ps barbie grades and smarts have nothing to do with eachother if you want good grades you must behave i got straight f’s in school yet i was commended by the principals and stuff for my hi test scores higher than anyone else in the school. but yet i never made the honor role, behaved kids did. they can always get extra credit and homework counts as a huge part of ur grade whihc i never did and plus teachers grade on how they feel really not some list of numbers.

IQ is a simple measure of general intelligence and there are many kinds of smarts such as book smarts and street smarts. The average IQ is 100 anything below being below average and everything above being above average.

Book Smarts and

Common sense smarts.

I personally myself like to deal with people who have Common sense smarts. They grasp things easier and understand logic better. But I don’t care how “Book Smart” you are. If you don’t have a lick of common sense. You look like a total idiot.
