does anyone know of any programs to help single mothers in georgia?

1. Colleges usually can provide you with flexible work study or part-time work programs that would help you gain experience for your resume while you are finishing your education. Because you are a single parent, you may also greatly benefit from the flexibility you will find in work study programs or paid internships through the college of your choice. Plus, if you are “in” with the right people at a college and you are motivated, it will open doors for you.
If you are worried about funding college, here is a link to the GA College 411 site – sponsored by the GA state government.

I specifically linked to there Scholarships and Grants (need based funding) page, but you can just go to www.gacollege411.org, which is their main page. They have federal and state programs listed there. Click on the Adult Learner tab to get more info about your specific needs.
2. Below is a link to the GA Department of Labor website.
http://www.dol.state.ga.us/
This website will help you find specific information regarding employment and training programs in your area. If you have a BS already, you may be able to find a suitable position. If you have experience to go with the degree, that’s much better.
You may also consider going through a temp agency to build experience if you do not have any. I have done this to switch careers, and I found that they were more flexible when considering jobs to place me in that were good for my needs.
