It all depends on your contract with the school district and the terms of your tenure. I would guss starting around 27-32k per year. Different school districts have higher/lower pay for factually also. For example a teacher in a city like Albany, NYC, buffalo etc would be paid more than a small town such as Lake George. Bigger school district, bigger budget, bigger salierys.

BUT, more kids, higher crime rate, more risk for you and ur family, so it is a trade off. Do research, call the principles of the schools you want to apply for, and ask around with the locals. Also try to not limmit yourself to just “A third grade teacher” You should get a range, such as k-3, or 4-6. That will make you more marketable and valuable than just a one grade teacher.

Art teachers make the same as everyone else. That differs from district to district. Hardly anyone teaches Art on just one grade level. You are usually assigned to all levels of an Elementary School. The highest salaries in NY are on Long Island and in some of the more affluent districts in Westchester and Rockland Counties. On LI beginning teachers make in the neighborhood of $35-38,000 and experienced teacher with many years of experience can approach $100,000 and more.

I am absolutely stunned. It’s just sordid and despicable. If parents were involved with their children, this possibly could have been prevented. If these children were in fact having problems with the teacher, why didn’t they tell their parents or the principal?? Whatever happened to respect… It’s a good thing the plot was foiled. I don’t even want to think what could have happened. I hope all the students, including the ones that were not involved get counseling and help because this incident can traumatize a child for years to come.

So long as you are a full-time teacher, you will be paid the same as any teacher K-12 in the same district.
