The name ‘Led Zeppelin’ was a joke made by Kieth Moon, the former drummer of The Who. When he heard the material the group were playing he said that’ll go down like a lead Zeppelin (A joke in England is to say that something will go down like a lead balloon when it’s bad). The group changed the ‘lead’ to ‘led’ and became Led Zeppelin. ‘Led’ is not a name.
