When you take the SAT, there is a section where you indicate the CEEB codes of the colleges to which you want your scores sent. Once you indicate this school, they get that test date and any prior test dates. (SAT score reports show the most current test date and every prior date). If you didn’t indicate a college, they will never see your scores. All that being said, if your ACT score is higher, most schools will simply ignore the lower score from the SAT and only use your ACT score when making a decision on your application. Every school is different though-check each school’s requirements – if they don’t accept ACT scores, then your SATs will have to do. However, most schools will take either the SAT or ACT. Just do a little research on what they want and good luck!

So long as you did not send it anywhere yet–usually people opt to send their SAT scores to colleges when they sign up to take the test, since they won’t have to pay anything to send up to four reports. Unfortunately, if you ever take the SAT Subject Tests, you will have to send the SAT scores along with the SAT Subject Test scores.

Also, make sure your guidance counselor takes the SAT scores off of the transcripts that you are sending to the colleges–otherwise, they will probably be there.

It depends. A lot of schools don’t even require SAT scores anymore or don’t really care what the score was as long as you have a strong GPA.

You can also always take the test again in the fall.

Depends what school you want to attend. If they want both your scores then you have no choice. If they just want your ACT score then that works out better for you. But if they want your SAT score than you are out of luck, unless you take it again.

You can do so if you don’t plan to send any SAT scores (including SAT subject tests) to your college choices. I think all the SAT scores come on one sheet, so if you send your subject tests in, your colleges will see you SAT I test results too.
