Do you need to be employed to get a Sallie mae loan?
I need a loan to pay for the rest of my tuition. I do not have a co-signer because my parents have bad credit. I have already applied for the loan now I need to sign it and send them info about employment and proof of enrollement. I am not going to do all that if you have to be employed because i dont have a job. I have heard bad things about the sallie mae loan but at this point I am desperate so if someone has some better options that will fit with my situation I would appreciate that as well (I have already filled out the FAFSA).

Sallie Mae is a last resort but if you need it to finish school, you might as well get it. No, you dont need a job. Tey will just make you start paying back right after you graduate! Have you tried any scholorships? Do you have any grandparents, aunts, uncles who will co- sign?

No you don’t. There are different types. I think the Signature Student loan is the one you should consider. But there are other companies who are willing to make offers similar and sometimes even better than Sallie Mae. Sallie Mae just has a popular name.

Have seen lots of people asking info on bad credits. Well, if you need to get your problem solved onarrange loans or other finance, and usually means you will pay more interest on any loan you take out.

I don’t know about the employment part (I was employed when I got my loans) but I can tell you if you are unemployed, you will need a cosigner. Also, I have my student loans through them, and thus far have had a few problems (just payments being applied to the wrong loans) but they were easily fixed. Good Luck!

Being a student myself, you do not have to be employed to apply for a Sallie Mae Loan. I do know that they are strict on who they lend money to. The denied me but JP Morgan Chase approved me.
