Do I need to take Chem 152?
I currently attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa and I have a requirement to take both Chemistry 151 and 152, I took Chemistry 161 and 161 L and passed both, and i know I don’t need to take Chem 15, but what about Chem 152?

I believe 152 is elementary organic chem. So yes, you will need to take it unless you’re taking the higher level organic chem which is a full year sequence, while 152 is just one semester. It’s basically a watered down version of full organic. Likewise, 151 is a watered down version of gen chem which is why it’s only one semester. In any event, your degree requires some organic chem proficiency and gen chem does not touch that at all.
