do colleges consider the highschool cirriculum’s level of difficulty when looking at the GPA?
the highschool i used to go to didn’t have a very challenging cirriculum. it was much easier to get really high grades, even in honors classes. quite frankly, there were people in honors/AP classes whose intellect would not even get them into accelerated classes in my new school. i was the top student at that school, and in my new school, i’m still in honors/AP classes, but no longer at the tippy top (some kids in my school are just geniuses, really). but if two kids, one being myself who will graduate from the much better, but also more challenging school with pretty good grades, and one student from my old school who would end up with a strong application and very high GPA because of the easiness of the classes, even if the do have an honors title, which on would have a better chance of getting accepted to “prestigeous university”? my SAT scores will definately be higher, but colleges always say that’s just one factor. do they consider the school itself when looking at applications?

Competitive colleges know which schools are populated by dummies and letting those kids slide through with inflated grades. When they look at a GPA they factor that into how they consider the student’s performance. It is not just the numbers anymore.

They do consider what courses you have taken it in high school. They track your GPA and all the subject you are taking. Sure i really looks good if you are honor and AP student. It is extra.
If you have consider a college go there and make and appointment for an interview. Because lot of time they want to see in kids that how much they are in really life as in application.

They might consider whether you came from a private or a public school, but as far as I know, they don’t look at the level of difficulty in your high school curriculum.
If you are trying to figure out whether the easy school or the more difficult school would be better to get into a prestigious university, also consider- which school would prepare you better for the difficulty of said university?

They consider the curriculum like AP vs college prep vs basic. but they wouldn’t consider the school itself. if your s.a.t scores are high and you have extracurricular activities and a good g.p.a theirs nothing to worry about.

Hell no! You earn what you earn unfortunately. The colleges have an across the board way of viewing and calculating a GPA.
