…can’t speak for Sweden, so I hope you get answers from some one there.

In the US, graduate admissions are usually quite competitive. As a result, I can’t imagine that a 2.15 GPA would be acceptable in the near future, even with a great GRE score. Instead, you might want to consider getting some work experience and trying to prove yourself in that environment. With some excellent work experience, some great projects to your credit, and awesome references, you might get some programs to give your application a good critical look.

Sorry if this sounds pessimistic, but I’m trying to help you with a realistic assessment and some realistic advice on how to move forward if you really want to go to grad school.

Good luck.

If you get a great score on the GRE, AND you get really amazing letters of recommendation from your current employer, then you might have a shot at a mediocre university in the US for an assistantship in ECE. Your letters of recommendation will essentially need to say that your grades are not a reflection of your ability. Those letters need to say that you have been performing with the intellectual drive and creativity of someone with a GPA of 3.5. And it has to be more than one letter that says that. Otherwise your work experience of two years is not going to be enough “depth” for a US university to look away from your rotten grades.
