Did you have “alumni affliations” when you were applying to school?

Did they help? Do you think it was a big push?

I did not have “alumni affiliations” to the college that I graduated from. I remember the college sending us (as college students and alumni) refferral forms for anyone who is considering college. Obviously, the college keeps its “standards” and doesnt just let anyone in just because we referred them. I just think that colleges are a form of a business and they need to get their name out there and possibly accept some qualified candidates along the way.

I didnt have nay connection like that. I think alumni affiliations apply more to big Universities like Harvard and Princeton where being an alumnus may have more of a pull, but other than that I don’t think it’s really necessary to get into a good school.

Nope. I had taken classes at a community college while working, before I transferred into my current college. (I’m an older, non traditional student). When I applied to my current college, they saw my transcripts from the CC and the fact that I had a 4.0 at the community college, and I got in to my current college quite easily, with quite a few scholarships added in as a bonus. ;o)
