Did I pass the GRE?

I just completed the Graduate record Exam (GRE) this morning. My school requires a combined score of 800 as a minimum for me to remain in graduate school (I was allowed one semester without the GRE scores). I took the CAT exam.

I scored 350 on the verbal and 550 on the Quantitative. The analytical writing section will be scored later. Is the combined score simply the 350 + 550 = 900? Where doe the Analytical Writing second score come in?

Please explain.

It is a separate score. It won’t add to the total you already have. If your graduate school requires an 800, then I would say you passed, though the test is not usually explained in those terms. The Quantitative score is average, the verbal pretty low, but it sounds like you meet the program’s requirements, so it’s time to celebrate!
