Did I make the right choice?
I’m going into eight grade next year and I hae the option of taking algebra 2 because of my test scores. I decided to do it because I knew it was what m parents wanted even though they said it was my decision. The thing is..I kinda wanted one year to be easy because there wont be a break 4 me in high school. Being in algebra 2 means i will have all the hardest teachers. But this means I wont have to double up on courses in high school to have a decent transcript. I just want to know if I did the right thing

I think you did do the right thing. My friend Emma did that that. She took Algebra II freshman year and Algebra I at the high school in 8th grade. I envy her because this year I have to double up. At least this way all your other subjects will be easy. Than when everyone is desperate in high school to balance two maths and still get good grades, you won’t even have to worry about it.

High school is a joke. Lighten up and have fun. I chunked my 11th grade and skated through my senior year. I went to a JC for 2 years, then got accepted to a study abroad program at Oxford University. Then I transferred to UC Santa Cruz, where I completed a BA in psychology. After that I was easily accepted into an MA program at a Cal State school. I never took the SATs, never took the GRE. Don’t sweat it. Take plenty of beach days in high school. I guarantee in the long run, high school is about the good times with friends.

I think you did! For me, kids had the chance to take Algebra 1 in 8th grade, and I didn’t do it. I wished I had did it now that I’ve graduated from high school. All my friends who took it were able to take Calculus in 12th grade, yet I could only take Pre-Calculus, and Calculus looks much better on a high school transcript. Just work and study hard…while all those other people scramble to get in all their required math courses done in 11th and 12th grade, you’ll just be cruisin…

Don’t worry, you did absolutely the right thing! Every single subject in Highschool will be extremely difficult.
It’s great that your going to lighten the load a little for the future and get a better transcript. Don’t put of till later what you can do today!!!!

It is a very smart move,VERY SMART. do well in that class and you will be awarded in HS class selections.
basically your HS math courses can go like this:
frosh year: hnrs geometry
soph. year:pre calc/trig or math analysis.
jr. year:ap calc ab
sr. year:ap statistics or ap calc bc
