Did anyone take dual credit classes in Highschool?

OK. Let me inform you I am 35 years old adult. And many of my classmates/ lifetime friends have been through the program. Thereby, I may give you some suggestions.

“Did anyone take dual credit classes in High school?”

“How was it?”

The difficulties depend on the college and university that you are planning to take. I took classes at local community college. It was piece of cake for me. I got mostly A’s. I also took classes at the UC Irvine. It was fun. But I manage to get above 3.5 GPA.

“Did it help?”

The program did help most of my high school classmates. They got into decent schools and make a few bucks here and there. Here some of their occupations: OB GYN doctor (just got married last month) Dream job for some guys who want to watch pussy all day :), Neurologist (Teaching in University of Florida Med school), Brain surgeon, ER doctor (John Hopkins), Economist (associate professor at Harvard), Attorney (specialize in SEC law & live in Chicago), Public defender (want to help the poor- Attorney ), Missionary (tired of Med School), and me NOBODY 🙂

” Where did you take the test to see if you qualified?

Yes. They did have some GPA requirements for us. You will need to talk to your school consul for it.

PS Early graduation is the only problem for me. I’ve double major. I think with 4 more class I could have graduated with another degree. And you will face early decision for your major as well. A few of my classmates have completed all their general education requirement and sophomore standing when they finish their first year. The school may force you to take a major. You really cannot major in “UNDECIDED” 🙂

In a public high school in texas a “dual credit” class is a class that counts for both high school and college credit. There are also AP classes that you can take and if you pass the AP test at the end of the class you can get college credit. However, what I believe a “dual credit” is; is a class taught by a professor from a local college at your high school. This means you would be in college and the high school would also give you credit for the class.Normally the only classes you can take are basic english, math, government, etc. things you also need in high school. My view of “dual credit” and AP are very different. “Dual credit is taught by a professor and if you pass the class you get both high school and college credit and an AP class is taught by a high school teacher and if you pass the class you get high school credit, but only if you pass the AP test given by the college board do you get college credit.
