Confused Senior In High School Guidance?

Ok so Im going to be a senior in september, and Im already stressing about it. I’ve already registered for the SAT’s in october and November, and have already taken an SAT class to get me prepared (Along with the text books I have here at home). I took the PSAT (Practice SAT) and only got an average score which I wasnt pleased with, which only shows that I have to study even more. I plan to get Straight A’s next year and am taking 4 AP classes and the other 3 are Middle College courses. My GPA is only a 3.4 x_x I know its not that good please dont bash me :[. I already know the colleges I want to apply to, but I want to know when is the correct time to do so? When should I write my college essay/Resume? And when should I apply for scholarships? Please I need help. everytime I even think about next year I get stressed out X_X.

Don’t worry, I’m in the same boat. At my school, and in my state (michigan), SATs aren’t really necessary, but we have to take the ACT. Hey, a 3.4 is a pretty good GPA. It can get you into some good colleges, but I guess not Harvard or Yale or anything if you plan on going there. The best time to apply for colleges is at the very start of your senior year, so don’t worry you’re fine! Also, not every college expects an essay or resume. But if they do, then send it with your application. Most scholarships are automatically considered when you get accepted into a college. Some aren’t though, and the best time is to apply during your senior year. Don’t get worried, everyone has to go through this. Just relax, you can do it! Brick by brick

you are over thinking this wwwwaaayyyy too much. a 3.4 is great and an average score on the psat’s is great (they are harder that the regular ones), plus- most schools dont really take the SAT’s as seriously now as they used to. if you already know what schools to apply to- start the applications now so that you have them done early and dont have to worry about them too much later. most scholatship deadlines are in march to june so, you can atleast get a list of ones you want to apply to together now so you can think about it.

you will be fine and dont stress- remember- your best friends is your guidance counselor. ask them anyhting and they will (most likely) have an answer.
