college statistics?
i’m trying to prove a point to my boyfriend who told me that going to college is the easy way. does anyone know any websites that have statistics of someone with a college degree as opposed to someone without one and their salary, how much more $$ they will make throughout their lifetime, etc? Thanks!

Tell your boyfriend to look at this: http://www.uwrf.edu/admissions/Degree_to_Income.pdf
It shows that if you only get a high school diploma, you will make on average $1.2 million over your lifetime, but if you get a bachelor’s degree you will make on average $2.1 million over your lifetime. That’s almost double – college is worth it.

Yeah you can show him the averages. They’ll doubtlessly show that someone with a college degree makes a lot more — ON AVERAGE — than someone who doesn’t. But if you look around among university seniors, there are plenty of people who got mediocre grades, pursued largely useless majors, and haven’t a clue where their first job is going to come from. Their parents told them that there would be a job at the end of the rainbow and it just doesn’t work that way.
So show him the averages.
While you’re at it why don’t you show him the door. Nothing is easy. If he thinks college is going to be easy he’s got a rude awakening in store for him.

Has a job handbook. I’m pretty sure it has a comparison there, but it is definitely the most accurate source for job info since it is a government website.
