College Major question?

Does majoring in a field such as Computer Information Systems imply materialistic/money driven?

I want to study technology, but the Computer Science degree would take an additional year to complete..

The IT field has been one of the fastest growing for years, but what many colleges won’t tell you is that it’s also HEAVILY outsourced. Simply looking at the viability of all IT careers in general, the only true long term stability is as a networking technician or systems administrator.

(I said IN GENERAL btw. I’m sure some of you have different stable IT jobs, but for most people they are short-term and outsourceable.)

Computer based majors are definitely not the place to go if you are driven by money. hew majority of computer experts are employed in a freelance capacity which does not come with benefits. Since many people are becoming more and more adept at computer related tasks, companies who do employ staff full time are able to get new grads at much cheaper rates and able to replace them at will to save the company money. I wish you the best ofluck of course, but I would not waste any additional time or money on advancing a computer career.
