College in Tampa or Cape Town?
I live in Florida, boyfriend in South Africa.
Where would college be cheaper for me?
Boyfriend says college is very very cheap down there.
True, but considering I’m not a resident down there, wouldn’t then all those costs just add up to what I’d pay yearly for college in Tampa(USF)..? I’m just saying what a person would generally pay…
What do you think, or know?

I can’t imagine that with flights and phone calls to parents that you could possibly go to school more cheaply in S. Africa. Check the exchange rate, however, and if we (the US) have a massive exchange rate benefit, then it might be possible, but I still doubt it. USF is a state university, and so it’s really quite cheap. I’d think that you’d end-up spending at least a couple of thousand dollars a year on airfare, and figure the same for phone bills. Then add tuition, room, board, and the added (no kidding) cost of having a boyfriend that will drag you out to do fun things that cost a bunch as well. Last… remember that boyfriends are boyfriends, and not husbands. How will you feel if the relationship doesn’t work out? Will the cost seem worth it in that case?
Sorry I sound pessimistic. I’m just trying to help you think of the implications. Good luck however it works out!

It is definitely cheaper to study here than in the US, but like u said, relocation costs definitely have an impact. What are you planning on studying here? Which institution do you plan on attending? The general quality of tertiary education here is superior to that of most other countries (except for UWC – i don’t rate them highly, except for maybe Law, Pharmacy and Dentistry).
