College Books??

Are they cheaper at the college bookstore or online? I’m looking at about $780 in book charges.

On-line, definitely, even with the shipping costs. There’s amazing bargains on abebooks.com, as well as amazon.com’s used book section. I got a couple of my books, both $15-20 new, for literally a buck or two or less. Most of my books I was able to find “like new,” without a mark on them.

Definitely order as soon as you know which books you need; I did a lot of my ordering in the classroom on my laptop as the professor talked about the book list! I usually had them in my hand in a week’s time.

One of my classmates bought all her books online, then sold them back to the sites and actually earned a profit.

Also, consider making a deal with one of your classmates; you each buy half of the books you need, and then share. You both have to be organized and honest, but it can work if you’ve got the right partner.

First of all I would go for used books, not brand new if possible. I have seen some better deals on-line rather than in my college bookstore, but do some shopping around, some books may be better priced in the bookstore, some on-line.

Definitely buy online as books tend to be cheaper online. Try eBay, Half.com, or even amazon.com.

Well if you do buy them online you have to think about shipping costs and in order to keep the shipping costs down you will have to have them sent media mail which can take quite awhile depending on where you are at. Just a little something to think about. I personally don’t think it is worth it to buy it online.
