In theory you could. A lot of them only let you borrow so much. So you might be buying a piece of crap. Ask the loan company how much you can get and take it from there.

Federal loan no. Even if you had a refund it would not be enough to buy a car. Private educational loans most of them need to be certified by the school and again even if you had a refund it would not be enough to get a car. Other student loans that do not involve the school to certify you could use it to buy a car but with those interest rates you are better off taken out a loan specifically for a car through the dealership.

No, you cannot buy a car with the funds from a federal student loan, it is the one thing specifically prohibited by regulation.

DONT LISTEN TO THESE GUYS
the answer is yes if you need a car to do anything school related then yes its school related expenses!!
PRIVATE STUDENT LOAN is what you would need to get, and yes if you dont have at least 2 years of work history and good credit then you will need someone to cosign.
some private loans go to your school but some just go to you.
NEXT student loans are sent DIRECTLY to you, NOT YOUR SCHOOL.
i just got 20,000 sent to me in under 2 weeks. and i also need a car. and that isnt enough???? haha
but just remember your gonna have to pay it back eventualy.

yes, but it would have to be a private student loan, and they usually have requirements such as min. 2 years continuous work or the cosigner must have satisfactory credit….yeah im having the same problem….
