It took me several years of practice to gain use of my left hand in writing and drawing. I did this because like you, I wanted to be ambidexterous (which by the way, does not mean use of both hands, it means both hands are like the right (dexter means right and ambi means both). I thought this would help to lay new neural pathways in my brain. I used the dictionary and copied words and definitions. (this also helped to increase my vocabulary). It took almost 3 years to gain real control over my left hand and to be able to write and not have my writing look like that of an elementary aged child. Drawing was even more difficult, but with practice you will see that you get better and better. Good luck.

yes you are ambidextrious, some ppl cant even hold a pencil with the opposite hand. and if you can write somewhat legibly, you are! thats how i am, it looks like a 2-5th graders writing. umm to become more ambidextrious… start with the basics.. write the alphabet [capital letters, and lowerscase] on a piece of paper a couple of times with your right hand, then try and do that with your left. after a while it will get better & easier.. then do small everyday things with your left hand like opening a soda can with your left hand.. etc.

that’s what i do. like i am normally right handed, but can do good amount of stuff with lft.. like in sports im left handed/footed.

Even I trained myself to write with my left hand. It was barely legible at first, but I stuck to it, and within a month or so, I could write equally well with both hands.

To increase the dexterity of the left hand, you should try to use it as much as possible. Try to eat with that hand, as well as open doors using keys..basically everything.

A doctor told me that since I have been using my right hand since birth, the muscles for fine movements have been properly developed, But it will take some time for me to get the same amount of control over the fine movements of the left hand..

So My advice is, stick to it. Try to do as much as possible with the left hand.

I think one can. People with broken right arms can write really well with their left hands after a while.

I wish I was ambidextrous. I’d give my right arm to be ambidextrous.
