Can I still go to college?

Yes, of course you can still go to college. First, you need to take the ACT or SAT exam and have the score sent to the college of your choice. Second, fill out an application form and request your high school transcripts be sent there. Third, make an appointment to meet with an academic advisor to plan your schedule of classes and answer your questions.

Financial aid is available, as are work-study jobs for those who need a part-time job while in school. These jobs are located in the university, and work with your class schedule.

If you attend community college, you will save 2/3 of the tuition of a four-year university for years one and two. You can transfer credits in your third year if you go this path.

Go for it! There is no reason you cannot take the SAT’s and start college soon. I bet you will have a lot more motivation to do well than someone starting college right out of high school. It sound like cost is a concern for you, so I would try going to a community college first. If you go this route, no SAT’s are needed. They still offer a top-notch foundation for your junior and senior year. It may be easier to get in to a good college this way. Just speak with an advisor about what and where you want to study later, so all your credits transfer. If you don’t want to go this route, just apply like everyone else. Fill out an application, take the entrance exam, write an essay, and get some letters of recommendation from former teachers or your employer.

Fill out the FAFSA online, call your local cc and see if you can register for September. Even if you go part-time or non-degree, get going! It’s a good way to start back and decided what you want to study. Too late? At your age? Ha ha, I am a full-time grad student and am THIRTY! Thanks for making me feel my age, buddy! No, but really, I think it’s great that you want to go. You are still young. The local CC may also allow you to do really well. An A average from the CC with an AA degree is better than a D average at a 4 yr school. And you probably don’t need SATs to register. Once you have an AA, you’re done with that test anyway.

Get moving, especially if you hate Food Lion. Get on the phone in the morning.

You should NEVER have doubts about getting a good education. Also, you only get to live once, so why not make the best of your life? And, 19 is NOT emphasis on NOT too old to start college. To cut down on tuition, try going to a community college, or talk to an old teacher or someone successful for tips to get into a nice school if you have money now. And never give up on your dreams. I know that sounds corny, but it’s better than wasting time doing something you don’t want to do, correct? Hope I helped. 🙂

Go to a community college first. It’s a good way to start up your education again. Then, while in school, talk to a counselor about moving up to another University. I have friends that got into great universities spending only a year at a JC (Junior College/Comm. College). Also, it’s a hell of a lot cheaper to do it that way. Usually, the actual college admissions will tend to look over however poorly you did in high school and look at how well you did at the JC.

Find a place in your area that provides SAT testing. I suggest going to a community college first would be your wisest and most affordable decision. Knock out your core classes first, such as math and science, etc… That way if you decide to change your degree. Your time spent wont be a waste. All degrees require those core classes. You can still decide what you want to earn while taking classes. Saving valuable time.. Good Luck to you! Its never too late to go to college. The only problem is that the longer you take to go to college the less earning potentional you have. You end up living year to year with less money.

Go for it. The colleges will guide you through all the steps. Don’t be discourage. So you have to take an SAT.

Firstly, if you did poorly on your SAT you could always retake it. Secondly, your definition of a “good school” is different from mine, so I am unable to help you with that. Thirdly, whatever it is that you are going to study I suggest that you browse through US News and World Report. They rank various universities and programs. I am just happy to see that you realize how important school is. Remember one thing. Whichever university you go to you are there to LEARN! Yes of course you still have plenty of time to go to college. Apply at the colleges(3) of your choice and apply for financial aid at www.FAFSA.com. You can take any tests like SAT at the beginning of your first term at college.

you can go two routes in this. you can take the S.A.Ts and then apply to college or since you don’t have that much money go to community college for a year and do well in it. then apply to a four year university. or apply to an open admission four year university.
