Can anyone tell me any information about UC Riverside?

I got this thing in the mail from them about some Highlander Scholars “guaranteed admission” program that I’m eligible for. I am interested in this college and am curious about stats: average GPA, SAT, you know… any information would be great. I’m trying to see how likely it would be for me to get a merit scholarship from them (My GPA is 4.17, SAT 2030, ACT 30.) Thanks. 10 points to Best Answer!

With your stats, I think you will have no problem getting into UCR. If you go to the UCR website they have all kinds of resources and tell you exactly what you need to be eligible for the scholarship.See below:

Complete 13 of 15 required UC Approved “a-g” courses (exceptions include fourth year English and either the Visual and Performing Art or College Preparatory Elective).

Attain a minimum 3.5 GPA in “a-g” coursework and maintain a record of academic excellence during your senior year of high school.

Complete SAT Reasoning Test with a minimum score of 1600.

Complete 2 SAT Subject exams by December of your senior year.

** If you would like to be considered to for the scholarship, you must have completed the 2 SAT Subject Exams by the time of application to the Highlander Scholars Program.

You should always try to for as many scholarships, even if you are borderline, which in this case it seems you are more than quailified. Free money is always worth trying for, you never know who will apply!

Wow, very likely to get a merit scholarship from them. My sister got into UCI’s Honors Program with a scholarship with similar numbers to yours. UCI is MUCH higher ranked than Riverside.
