The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania is one of the best. It is the highest ranked in the nation for undergraduate program and for Finance. Harvard Business School is known for general management.

The best business schools tend to be in urban areas – and this makes sense considering big, corporate businesses tend to be in larger areas. Therefore, scratch the Dakotas. I’d say looking into a school like Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, or Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Pretty much any university in a large city will have a nationally recognized program. Good luck in your search!

be careful of your terminology. I went to a business college at the beginning of my career and it merely was secretarial in nature (learning business machines, taking basic accounting, learning steno, how to do runner type work).

Going to college depends on a couple of main things 1) how much money you have or can get for school, and 2) what career you want to go into. Remember that if you get a Business Admin or Management 2-year degree course that you will have to continue to get your four year degree and then get a speciality, since that’s not really out in the business world considered a specialty, it’s only a start toward a specialty.

Why not go to a junior or community college, which would be less expensive, would be near to you (cost you less in transportation), would have easier courses and ease you into the University level later, and you could get your AA two year degree which later you can transfer to a four-year university.

So look for a community college in your area. Check the yellow pages of your phone book, search online, or contact your chamber of commerce and ask what schools are in your area.
