Associates degree retaking courses?
you earn an associates degree for one major and decide to take up another major right after earning the degree, do you have to retake the same courses again? I took English comp I and II for my Automotive major, which i had just completed and earned an Associates degree for. However, i would like to go back to school to get a degree in Accounting. Would i have to take English Comp I and II again?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer this question.

No. English comp 1 and 2 can be used for both degrees. Get your AA degree then transfer to a state university.

No, you would not have to retake those courses for an additional AA Certificate. However, colleges and universities have a requirement for graduation and you will have to take a specific number of hours. For example, I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Education. Many years later I attended the University of Maryland to get a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. UM said I had to take 60 credits for the Degree. It didn’t matter how many other credits I had from the UF, they wanted 60 course hours.

First of all, you should never go back to apply for another Bachelor’s Degree, just get a Master’s. Second, these courses won’t likely be in the next degree you are going for, instead, the college will expect you to already know the basics and you will then have to take more advanced courses of these, like Calculus and more advanced English courses.
