geometric mean. You are dealing with rates of change. So you integrate. This is used to analyze growth rates.
Harmonic mean. You are dealing with curved surfaces. An orthopedic surgeon might want to know the best place to put a pin in a curved bone.
Quadratic mean. This is used to measure the performance of something. You can think of a lot of things that you might want to measure their performance.

I checked this with some numbers, and the proposition seems true, but not with the given definition of geometric mean. The one I used is GM = (a1 a2 ……an)^(1/n)
