Yes, I took 30 credit hours online through Phoenix. It works fine for some, but for me and 2 friends it did not work. One friend transferred to another online school and only 3 classes from Phoenix transferred. My other friend and I have both withdrawn from that school and are looking at our other options. Everything sounded great before we all enrolled, but after about 2 weeks, we were hung out to dry! I had some issues that went unresolved because for months no one would return phone calls or emails. It was actually a nightmare for me and my friends. We were also greatly misled as far as the cost. I am in debt thousands of dollars, and I do not even have an Associate’s degree. I don’t want to scare you, but be very careful. If I knew then what I know now, I would never have enrolled there. There are perks, such as the ease of doing everything at home, but the amount of work is incredible. I was told straight A students spend at the most 10-15 hours per week on their school work. Not me, nor my friends! There were many weeks we spent 30-40 hours trying to keep up. That’s not easy when you work and have a family! Good Luck!

I took a couple of online classes but just found that the style of learning was not for me. I would rather be sitting in a classroom with people and a professor that I know what he or she looks like rather than having to send out an email and wait for a response. I have nothing against the online format but it just was a poor fit for me having done a bachelors and masters degree the “traditional” way.

Before you register and spend your money, you might want to do some research. Apparently there are some issues with its accreditation and therefore some companies prefer not to hire graduates of that program and some colleges do not accept credits from them. These are good places to start:

Yahoo Answers search for University of Phoenix – you’ll find that some people are happy with it and have had no problems but you’ll also read warnings from others:

I was going to but when I found out about how much it cost (twice as much as my local University per credit hour) I didn’t go any further with it.
