Any who knows about the NY education system.?

I was attending Suny last year in the Fall 2006. A lot of things went wrong and I was academically dismissed with a .40 average. I had an A and 3 F’s. So In the Spring of 2007 I attended a CUNY school and took 3 classes I ended up with a 2.0 mostly because I was working and paying for an apartment on my own struggling with school and work. I won’t have to work anymore and now when I go back to school I expect no less than a 3.5 average. If I stay in CUNY for 1 year and lets say have a 3.5 or higher average will I be able to get back into SUNY?

when it comes to universities – they look more at what you have done in the last year than what you did before that or in high school. Work hard and the SUNY system will take you back – nothing says you have to finish in 4-5 years — ramp back your schedule and get great grades is more important than how many creidts you take

Never quit — tabula rasa, start over. You can have a “do over.” If you maintain a good GPA, SUNY schools will look at that, not the past. Keep in mind the SUNY community colleges, they’re excellent. Also, if you graduate from a SUNY CC, you are GUARANTEED admission into a four years SUNY school. Best of luck.
