Any tips on getting along with a teacher you can’t stand?

How can i at least tolerate the teachers that i dont like in high school this year so i can hate the class less and have a better learning experience?

Yea I know what you mean. The best thing that I think to do is to focus on the content of the course. Even though you have a really sucky teacher, you ignore their personality and focus on gaining more knowledge. =]

All of the above suggestions are sound.

I just want to add this thought: The technique(s) you use to get along with teachers will be the same one(s) you use to get along with coworkers and bosses throughout life.

Get to know them as people, and not just as authority figures. Remember, they carry a lot of stress everyday, but are there to give you the best education possible. Don’t take very word, glance, or reaction personally.

And remember that life is not a popularity contest. I’d rather have a great surgeon, than one who’s good at telling jokes.

Simple.SHow respect. No back talk.Go to class focus on what you are suppose to be doing in that class and follow the classroom rules. You can hate the teacher all you want but that doesn’t mean you have to be disrespectful and act up in class.

1) Talk to them if you don’t really know them well. How can you pass judgement w/out getting to know them?

If you REALLY don’t like him, I suggest:

2) Focus on the subject and not the teacher. Try to make some friends in the class and be interested in what he’s teaching rather than hate who’s teaching it.

1-Think that they try their best teaching teens coming from different families with diferent home enviroment, not mentioning that they have troubles in their own lives,

2-Talk to the teacher, let him or her know how you feel and what you want and do it in a RESPECTFUL way.

This worked for me some time ago, it was kind of hard for me to talk to her in a nice manner but as I said, it worked. Good luck

Without a teacher you wouldn’t have been

able to type out this question, would you

now? . . .

Your teacher don’t need you, you need your teacher, here’s a thought, what if the teacher didn’t like you? who know’s?

” Maybey He Doesn’t ”

Look on the bright side, after graduation he’s history, you better hope you like your boss and that’s the good news, the bad

news? you better hope he like’s you back or you’ll have more than SAT test to worry

about . . .

Look past them. You will have to understand what they want before you can do that though. I would suggest a short conversation before or after class. Just have a couple of words with them on a personal level.

This investment of a few moments will pay big dividends.

Just exhibit “teacher pleasing behavior” while in her presence. Smile, nod and answer the odd question. Also sit in the front row. This will get you farther than you might think!!! Hey when she turns her back stick your tongue out, flip her off, whatever, but remember she holds your grade in her hand!!! I taught HS for twenty plus years, this simple stuff works!!!

Try to concentrate on the lecture delivered and make the points on it. Do keep in ur mind that u can not get respect if u wont pay it to ur teacher!

Ignore them.

Do your work, you’re going to encounter people you like throughout your life and you just have to deal with them.

If you don’t want any trouble, ust make sure not piss them off back, or make them dislike you (more, if they already do). I’ve had teachers that have made class hell for me because I had no respect for their authority.
