Any tips for a young man who is about to move out of parents house and live independently for the first time?
I’ve been in college for a few years now, and have finally decided to get out of the dorms. Me and three of my best friends have acquired a house for the next year. What should I know, and/or expect from this experience? Any tips on how to survive? or what was your first experience of living away from home?

Pay your bills. Keep your house clean. Put everything in Writing. Be Smart. Don’t waste your money. Use your time wisely. Always be on time. Watch out for people who want to hurt your or scam you.

Put everything in writing (all financial arrangements) with your friends because a lot of friendships get ruined when you start renting a place together. Don’t say, oh, we don’t need a written agreement because we are friends. That will bite you in the butt, I guarantee it.

Be ready to do (almost) everything by yourself- laundry , cooking etc.Do not rely on your friends to help you in any anyway , they have their own burden. Do not get a girlfriend to do chores for you, its very risky!….. Finally, enjoy your singleness…. but know your limitations!
