UTA has strong engineering and nursing programs, and the fine arts and communication programs are good too.
It seems to cater well to its very large international student population. The school is trying to overcome its image as a commuter school by adding more on-campus housing and enhancing campus life with things like big name concerts and speakers (Ludacris, Laura Bush), as well as improvements to to the University Center (student hangout).
They just built a really nice planetarium, and a cool-looking fitness center is scheduled to open in September.
I work for the school paper, The Shorthorn. I’m biased, but I must say it’s a great source for news and a great place to work.
You should change to UT Arlington if it has a recognized program that you would like to attend. Perhaps you have family or financial reasons to change which are always important to consider. Regardless of what you choose, make the best of your education.
