Am I taking the right education path?

I am almost finished with an Associate in Business degree at a Community College in Computer Programming. Instead of entering a transfer program I chose the Associate Degree because that transfers anywhere. I am going to complete my Bachlor in Business focusing on Network Security and I will probably have to do a few extra classes because I didn’t transfer under that same major. After that I plan to earn an MBA and be done with school. Am I doing the right thing by getting an Associates and going from there or would I be better off entering a transfer program?

I don’t think it matters a great deal which of those two courses of action you pursue, so use your own judgement on that. What I would say though is to try your best to make sure your eventual degree is not too narrow, not too focused on very specific technical and business subjects. The more breadth you can have, the more general economics and indeed courses beyond that (humanities, a language) the better that will serve you for the MBA and in the work world.

Good luck.

Also, by getting your associates at a community college, you probably save a lot of money on your core classes vs. at a university. College is outrageously expensive these days. Best of luck to you in all your studies!
