or, x/2-x/6=2
or, l.c.m of 2 &6 is 6 so,
or,3x -x/6=2
or,2x/12
or, x=12/2

you want to get the x’s by themselves.
because x is being divided by 2, to get x by itself we must multiply every term on both sides by 2. you then wind up with x-x/3=4
next, do the same thing with the three to get. 3x-x=12
combine like terms to get 2x=12
divide both sides and the answer is……………
