Ok so i had to do summer himework for AP Lit and we had to read three books, one of which is Heart of Darkness. We also had to summarize it using only 150 words. my current summary is 182 and i need help getting it down to 150 or close. But I want it to stay pretty detailed.

Thnx! Here it is!

This novel begins with Marlow, a sailor, telling of his trip up the Congo River to meet Kurtz. Marlow is disgusted with the treatment of the natives in the Company stations. When he arrives at the station he finds his ship sunk. He waits many months for its repair. Many people on board fear Kurtz and his power. When they set back out on their voyage, they get caught in fog and are attacked by natives. One man dies. They soon arrive at Kurtz’s Inner station and expect him dead. A Russian trader informs the travelers Kurtz is well and has established himself as a god to the natives. He brutally raids for ivory. They eventually find out that Kurtz set up the attack himself to drive the travelers away. Marlow takes Kurtz with them on his ship. He dies shortly after telling Marlow about his plans and giving him papers on civilizing the natives. His last words are, “The horror, the horror!” Marlow returns to see Kurtz’s fiancée who asks what his last words were. Marlow says they were her name.
