vent can be used as a noun to mean “outlet” or a verb to mean “let out.”

noun: we could see smoke coming out of the air vent.

verb: he vented his frustrations about his job to me.

yes, i do use the verb form of “vent” sometimes and i have read about air vents before so this word is not uncommon.

to memorize, you should write the word and definition down minimum 3 times and put the word “vent” into example sentences. then try to use the word “vent” in your everyday conversations if possible. repetition is ideal for easy memory. you also can get someone to quiz you on vocab words and definitions, or just memorize the Main meaning of the word 🙂

Vent can be used a couple ways…

Vent – (Noun) A passageway or opening to release something such as gas or pressure or water, whatever

Vent – (verb) To relieve ones frustration, talk about what is bothering you

And yes it would be a good idea to memorize it. Used not too often, but it is a good word to remember.
