How can I raise my science and english portions of the ACT?

Science is harder to study for—my highest score in that section was when I lucked out and got a lot of Chemistry concepts on it when I took it while I was in AP Chemistry. Again, get a review book, and read the science information in it—you’ll need to be familiar with basic science concepts. The science is… hard. It’s the last thing on the test, so by that point even I (and I LOVE standardized tests, loser that I am) got bored and tired of it, so I think that’s one reason it’s so hard compared to the rest of the test. I suggest skimming the questions before you look at the stuff it gives you, so you can know what to pay attention to. Take note of each piece of information it gives you, and take a moment to orient yourself to the graphs and charts: What are they showing? Which variables are there, and how is that different from the other charts/graphs? When you get to each question, identify which part of the passage it pertains to (usually they give you experiment a, experiment b, experiment c, like that) and which variables it wants you to examine. Take as many practice tests as you can to get familiar with the type of questions that are on the science reasoning (and the English, for that matter).
Take food to eat during the break so you aren’t too tired or hungry by the time you get to the science at the end, lol.
Good luck!
