What year in highschool..?

The PSAT/NMSQT is usually taken Sophomore Year. You really don’t have to prepare for that unless you want to be a National Merit Scholar (and believe me its VERY hard)

The SATs are usually taken Jr. and Senior Year. people if they do bad try the ACT’s because some people do better on the acts than the sats.

You can take any of those tests at any grade/age. It doesn’t matter. There was a 5 year old boy who was chinese who took the sats and got a 760 i think on math lol.

The PSAT/NMSQT can be taken early, in 9th or 10th grade, but remember that it only matters when you take it in 11th grade, because that’s the only time you can qualify for National Merit.

The ACT and SAT can be taken at any time you want to. Even if you’re already in college, you can take it for fun! (Or am I the only one who thinks they’re fun?)

I started taking the ACT each year in 7th grade (got a 22 that first time), and took it a total of 8 times. The SAT I took 4 times starting in 8th or 9th grade (I don’t remember when the first time was). They’re usually taken at the end of junior year and the beginning of senior year.

So, yes, you can definitely take them before the usual grade/age.

Some schools offer the PSAT at 10th or even 9th grade. You can take the SAT and ACT anytime you want. I know you can take the ACT at 7th grade (as part of Duke TIP)

Usually you take it in senior grade, but begin studying it since Junior grade since it will determine where you will be going in college!!

PSAT can be taken jr high yrs. SAT and ACT can be soph yr but why? Take your jr yr and can retake as often as you like or can afford.
