If you’re smart, which you are, you should be fine. I think you’re smarter than I am! Do you ever study? I never have, and I always did better than people who did. So you should be fine.
Health is easy, a required class for freshmen where I went, and not a problem. I wouldn’t know about gym.
AP Physics is unusual for a freshman, but shouldn’t be hard for you if you’re already in Calculus. It’s basically applying the math you learn in math classes in a different way. You might have a lot of homework problems to do, and certainly a lot of class work, but you should be fine. It isn’t too hard as long as you keep up with it and get the concepts down.
Is Chemistry honors, like, pre-AP? Chemistry was a lot of new information to learn, but I always thought it was fun. Again, if you keep up with it, you should be fine. Don’t procrastinate, do your homework. AP Chemistry, if you take it next year, is one of the harder AP classes and tests, but if you pay attention in pre-AP, it’s not bad, just building on the base work you’ll get this year.
English is English. If you were in honors English last year, it’s not all that much different through high school. You’ll read books, you’ll analyze them, you’ll learn vocabulary.
Government is interesting, and it shouldn’t add too much to your workload. It’s mostly in-class work and listening to lectures. (At least, my AP Government class was.)
Calculus is fun! But you’ll probably have homework to do all the time. If your teacher doesn’t take up homework, though, don’t do it! You’re smart enough to get the concepts down without messing with the busy work. I never did my AP Calc homework, and got a 5 on the AP exam.
Spanish is more of the same, learning vocabulary and grammar in a different language. You may have homework, but it won’t be too difficult or long. I always considered my language classes (French and Latin) to be blow-off classes. Just a lot of vocab.
Orchestra is iffy– how much time are you planning on practicing? And what chair do you plan on getting? Depending on your teacher, you may be expected to do more for orchestra than you’re used to.
Overall, that’s quite a workload. Add in cross country and piano, and you might want to drop a class, one of the more time-intensive ones: chemistry, physics, or calculus. But if you think you’re up to it, go for it! I spent a lot of time in hgh school putting off my homework to chill with friends, and it never hurt me/my grades. You are really smart. You’ll do just fine.
Good luck!
Thje courses themselves don’t look that hard (although you might find AP Physics B easier after taking four high school math classes, going all the way through trig and pre-calculus). When I was in honors physics, the students who had the four years of math completed before they took the course did better than the ones who only had completed Algebra 2.
You sound like a smart kid so I think you’re schedule looks fine as long as you are dedicted to the AP Physics and pre-AP calculus.
and ive made a schedule to study about an hour each day
and still have time to do the things i want to
and i study only on weekdays
and i have free time on the weekend
good luck in high school 🙂
You’ll be able to handle it….you’re classes aren’t that hard, I’ve takenall of them (they’re all called the same in my school too, weird) and I got through them all pretty well…
