Who was the original author of ibong adarna?

OK. so now we are studying Ibong Adarna .And our teacher said that the author is probably JOSE DELA CRUZ. He also said that the reason because the Ibong Adarna is written ion The Spanish era so th author was afraid to write his name because he was afraid to be killed….

the true author of the book is unknown because it wasn’t written or made here in the Philippines. Some say that the author came from a spanish country and was brought or told here in the Philippines,

I guess the original author is unknown since it’s part of Philippine folklore and is a legend.

isn’t the story some sort of epic, passed on oral tradition that no one remembered the author’s name?
