Can someone help me factor this?
Ok, I know it’s
(x+something here)(x-something here)
Please help. I’m 37 yrs. old and it’s been a loooong time since I had to do any kind of math. Thanks!

Simplifying
(x^2 + 2x)(-2x)
Reorder the terms:
(2x + x^2)(-2x)
Remove parenthesis around (-2x)
(2x + x^2) * -2x
Reorder the terms for easier multiplication:
-2x(2x + x^2)
(2x * -2x + x^2 * -2x)
(-4x^2 + -2x^3)
Factor out the Greatest Common Factor (GCF), ‘-2x^2’.
-2x^2 (2 + x)
Final result:-2x^2(2 + x)

I hope this helped!
Sincerely,
(x+2)(-2x^2)=-2x^2(x+2)
(x^2)(-2x) = -2x^3
(2x)(-2x) = -4x^2
= -2x^3 – 4x^2
= -2x^2 (x + 2)
