too much –> people wouldn’t be interesting to find more about the main topic and might just leave the report..
too little –> people wouldn’t understand / get enough information so it would be just make them confused and losing their interest

Too much information: All your main points get lost.
Too little: Report wont be complete.
Make sure you get all your points in but be be concise and don`t waffle.
