can anyone tell me the history of progression?

In the old days, progression was taken seriously, because it was a hard thing to accomplish. Just as things were starting to move in a forward direction, Adam bit into the apple, and set progression back at least a million years.
Nowadays, progression is taken for granted. Although it is easier to accomplish, there are still obstacles like rap music and war-mongering leaders that are trying to take us back to the dark ages. People still keep trying to hit one another over the head with sticks and lead us back into the stone ages, but all in all, progression still has an outside chance of survival.
Of course, we could still drop a whole bunch of nuclear bombs, start WWIII and kill progression once and for all if we wanted to.
