Can someone help me answer this question?

Can someone give some examples from literature or theatre, current events, and history that helps support the claim “One should be Be Careful what he/she wish for”

This is an SAT practice essay question that I am completely stumped on and would appreciate some help!

If you have read the story of Oedipus the King, you should be able to answer this question easily. Oedipus wanted to save his parents which were really adoptive parents after the oracle predicted that he would kill his father and marry his mother… as the story goes on he goes back to his home town by accident, kills his father on his way and by curing the town of a terrible plauge placed by the sphinx he wins the current queen’s hand in marriage which is his biological mother..

he should have been careful for what he wished for.

In the story of King Midas he wished that everything he touched would turn to gold. His plates, forks, clothes etc all turned to gold as he was greedy for riches. He kissed his daughter and she turned to gold and so was lost to him. “One should be careful what he/she wishes for”
